Peridot Pendant

Building on the Peridot lamp series, the Peridot Pendant is a new design by Sarah Peake in collaboration with Rupert Merton. Hand thrown ceramic elements, formed from varied organic shapes, are each entirely unique and gathered into a suspended composition. A slim brass rod adds balance and structure, bringing a note of solidity to this fluid, sculptural and quietly expressive ceiling light.

The Design

The Peridot Pendant continues Studio Peake’s long collaboration with Rupert Merton, whose ceramics move beyond function into art. Each piece is hand thrown and unique, a variation on a theme that captures the spontaneity of the potter’s wheel. Evolving naturally from the Peridot lamp series, the pendant brings together artistic vision and practical design in a bespoke, sculptural light that celebrates process, material, and making.

Meet The Maker

Rupert Merton

Rupert Merton is a potter working between South West London and Catalonia, creating sculptural ceramics in stoneware and porcelain. After a career in music, he returned to clay, where function meets art. His work reflects a love of process, permanence, and the idea that pottery can outlast us and still tell a story.
