Studio Peake is an interior design and interior architecture studio creating high-end residential and commercial spaces worldwide. Defined by a philosophy that places the client at the heart of the design, every Studio Peake project involves an orchestra of creative input, with clients, designers, architects and makers working in harmony to create something truly unique – a reflection of who the client is and how they live.
Founded by Sarah Peake, the studio is based in London but its work ranges across the globe. Recent and ongoing projects include a Georgian townhouse in London, a Grade II listed Arts & Crafts house in Surrey and an architecturally ambitious villa on the water just outside Stockholm.
Studio Peake is guided by a deep respect for craftsmanship, architectural integrity and close collaboration with artisans and specialist workshops. But the client comes first. Everything we do is tailored to what the client needs. For our residential projects, we spend a great deal of time working with the client to understand how they and their family are going to live in the space. We need to know what the future might hold – just as we evolve over time, so should our homes.
The best interiors are richly layered – conflict is the source of all energy in a room. We are particularly known for our use of colour and contrast, interweaving the traditional and the contemporary to create inventive interiors that draw the eye.
We like to think that every project is a journey. From the first perspective sketch to the last doorknob, we’re living the project with the client, bringing together a diverse array of creative input to deliver a beautiful, tailored and timeless space.
Our Process
No two projects are the same, but they often rhyme. Here is our typical process.
Everything at Studio Peake starts with the client. We always begin a project by visiting the space and understanding the client’s own vision – for the property and how they will live there. What does the future hold? Are they thinking of starting a family? Do they work from home? These are all crucial questions to understand how the space is going to need to flex and support the rhythms of everyday life.
Detailed layout planning follows, with initial concepts, samples and finishes set out and pencil perspective sketches to illustrate them. This is a fluid, iterative process involving lots of exciting conversations with the client and visits to suppliers and workshops.
The client is involved every step of the way. We end up with a vision. Then inspiration turns to perspiration as we turn that vision into a reality. We draw up detailed schedules and drawings and work closely with architects, contractors and workshops to bring the vision to life. We handle the procurement and installation, ensuring a seamless process for the client.
We know that our clients don’t do this every day – a large scale project might be something they do once or twice in a lifetime. We want our clients to love the process as well as the end result.
The Studio
Housed in a former Victorian bakery, our Hammersmith studio lies in a converted industrial mews, remodelled by us in close collaboration with skilled local artisans and workshops. Light-filled and welcoming, the space embodies our values of craft, collaboration and creativity.

the team
Founder Sarah Peake leads a close-knit studio team of eight with Head of Design Sophy Toller, who has worked alongside Sarah since the early days. The studio takes on only a limited number of projects at a time, so that Sarah can remain closely involved in each, providing creative leadership and working closely with each client.
