The Peridot Lamp collection grew from Studio Peake’s long standing collaboration with ceramicist Rupert Merton. Each lamp is built from hand thrown ceramic forms, stacked into sculptural compositions so no two are the same. The result is a series of bespoke pieces that function as lighting while standing as individual works of art.

The Design

The Peridot Lamps began with an odd idea: could lamps be made out of mixed, hand thrown ceramic forms? Sarah set Rupert the challenge, and Rupert explored multiple shapes. Together they refined the combinations and glazes in his studio. The process was organic and iterative, shaped by experimentation and instinct. Each piece emerges as a one off variation, capturing the energy and magic of the potter’s wheel.

Meet The Maker

Rupert Merton

Rupert Merton is a potter working between South West London and Catalonia, creating sculptural ceramics in stoneware and porcelain. After a career in music, he returned to clay, where function meets art. His work reflects a love of process, permanence, and the idea that pottery can outlast us and still tell a story.
